Bioflex Laser

The Bioflex Laser is a well recognized low intensity laser system that is used by many professional sports organizations. It has a reputation for achieving rapid healing for various injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system. This includes injuries to the muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments to name a few.

Laser therapy using the Bioflex system involves placing the laser pad directly on the area of injury. This allows the laser diode to transmit photon energy to penetrate the tissue. Photons are particles of light energy that are absorbed by a variety of micro-molecules within the cell. This process initiates a number of physiological responses that are beneficial for healing. In simpler terms, light energy is converted into biochemical energy which helps to restore normal cell structure and function.

The bioflex system is among the newer generation of laser systems; it is more adaptable to different tissue types and different conditions. The BioFlex System can perform an infinite number of treatment settings and protocols so that many different complex medical conditions can be effectively treated.

Previously, Dr. Leslie McDowall was the clinic director for Meditech International’s Bioflex laser clinics. Working closely with Dr. Fred Kahn, the developer of the Bioflex laser system, she was regularly invited to speak to medical doctors, chiropractors and physiotherapists about the application of the Bioflex system.

Theralase Laser

Please note that our clinic is now proud to offer another laser device called Theralase.  Similar to the Bioflex, the Theralase system has a great reputation for achieving a rapid rate of healing for various musculoskeletal injuries.  This laser device is offered through our physiotherapists and is billed as physiotherapy for insurance purposes.
